The Town Council approved the Village at Avon PUD amendments 6-1, allowing short-term rentals with no license cap in Planning Area A, where SKJÓL is being built.
On April 14, 2026, after five public hearings, the Avon Town Council approved the joint Town and Traer Creek amendments to the Village at Avon PUD by a vote of 6-1. Planning Area A, home to SKJÓL and the planned Whole Foods, allows short-term rentals without a cap on licenses. Planning Areas C, D and J keep the 15% limit used elsewhere in Avon.
Council members asked that the rental rules follow Avon's municipal code, so owners still hold an annual Town STR license, follow the Town's operating standards and collect Avon's 10% local taxes on stays under 30 days.
What it means for buyers: at SKJÓL there is no wait for a license to open up under a cap. Owners apply in their own name once they purchase, and can use the association's rental management program or their own company.
